CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS
The crisis communication plans I’ve developed include:
Clear messaging for internal team members to ensure everyone is informed and aligned.
Communication with clients, customers, and community members to maintain trust and transparency.
Regular updates for the Board of Directors to keep leadership aligned with community needs.
Public statements to address concerns and maintain a positive relationship with the community.
Press releases to share important information with the public.
Preparing executives and spokespersons for media engagements, including phone and TV interviews, to represent the organization and community effectively.
RECENT EXAMPLE
In my current role at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital, I serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO) during crisis situations, activating Hospital Incident Command (HIC) when necessary. Throughout my tenure, I have fulfilled this role in response to various emergencies, including the 2023 Lewiston active shooter event, severe flooding in our region that same year, and a recent surge in patient volumes that required swift hospital action to ensure critical patient care.
